Colorado State’s College of Business is among a select group of business programs in the U.S. and Canada that is accredited by AACSB International – the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

Because of our outstanding reputation for excellence in the field, we are currently ranked in the top 100 in the nation by U.S. News and World Report.

More than 300 representatives from major corporations come to campus annually to recruit our graduates. Our faculty provides a unique blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience in their respective business fields. This approach, when combined with our high caliber students, leads to 91 percent of our graduates finding a job within 90 days of their commencement.

Undergraduate Programs of Study

Accounting

This concentration captures the always evolving occupation of accounting in its curriculum and helps students to gain top-of-the-line skills as they prepare to be professionals in public, private, and governmental organizations.
Placement of our graduates is strong especially with the Big Four CPA firms. Historically, our students have done well on the CPA examination. All of our full-time faculty hold Ph.D.s and are active researchers. Many are leading scholars in their fields.
Career opportunities include but are not limited to: auditors, analysts, consultants, controllers, entrepreneurs, managers, and planners. We also offer a Master of Science Degree in Accounting.

Computer Information Systems

The Department of Computer Information Systems is a leader in technology, setting the standard for IT education. The curriculum evolves continuously to ensure that your degree features the most useful and up-to-date material valued in the industry.
Rated top ten or better by five multi-national corporations, the program, which began in 1964, was one of the first in the nation.
Career opportunities include but are not limited to: applications programmer, microcomputer specialist, network manager, system consultant, programmer analyst, database administrator, MIS manager, and IT director. We also offer a Master of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems.

Finance

This concentration provides a cutting-edge education in finance. It values strong connections to the community and offers excellent opportunities to become involved with local businesses.
Students are given several unique opportunities including a student-managed investment fund, availability of Bloomberg (a financial information network widely used on Wall Street), and focus on the financial services industry.
Our graduates are employed throughout the financial services industry, including prestigious Wall Street firms. Our students have the tools necessary to enter careers in the private, professional, and government related sectors. Finance offers options in Corporate Finance, Investment Analysis, and Financial Planning.

Management

Management helps students become good decision makers and managers. If you have an interest in being a leader in a specific industry, the management concentration may be right for you.
Management faculty publish in premier journals like The Academy of Management Journal, The Academy of Management Review, and Decision Sciences. The department offers students opportunities in human resource manage¬ment, supply chain management, and entrepreneurship.
Alumni with a management concentration have gone on to many fulfilling career positions as Director of Human Resources, Manager of Logistics, Vice President of Opera¬tions, Product Safety Manager, Consultant, Recruiter, and General Manager.

Marketing

This concentration features prominent professors who active¬ly engage students in current trends and practices. Students also have regional and global opportunities for involvement in marketing projects and internships.
The department has been recognized for its research influence in the top three marketing journals. It is ranked in the top 20 of marketing departments with five or more faculty, and ranked in the top three of marketing departments without Ph.D. programs.
