Open Option/Undeclared Programs

Not every entering freshman has decided on a major - in fact, about one third of students report being undecided on a program of study. Therefore, we offer the following "open option" categories so that you can explore different areas before selecting a major:

• College open option programs if you have an interest within a specific college.
• Environmental Studies Open Option if you are interested in the the health and protection of our environment and natural resources.
• Life Sciences open option if you wish to explore over 50 programs of study at Colorado State that have direct links to the life sciences.
• Natural Sciences open option if you wish to explore programs of study related to the physical sciences.
• The University-wide Open Option if you wish to explore a range of subjects from more than one college.
