Pre-Med, Pre-Law & Other Pre-Professional Programs
Medical School / Health Sciences
Colorado
State has long-established, successful advising and academic programs
in the health professions (medicine, nursing, dentistry, optometry,
pharmacy or other allied health profession). We offer advising in both
your major and prehealth programs and assist you as you prepare for
admission to a professional program.
Students who take advantage
of the advising services offered score high on nationwide admission
tests (MCAT, GRE, DAT), and despite record numbers of medical school
applicants, our average success rate for acceptance into medical school
is higher than the national average.
For more information, contact prehealth advising at the Center for Advising and Student Achievement, (970) 491-7095.
Veterinary Medicine
As
home of one of the nation’s top veterinary schools, Colorado State can
offer you access to resources that other schools aren’t able to provide
to undergraduate students, including pre-vet advising in the Center for Advising and Student Achievement (CASA).
Your
adviser can help your prepare for the veterinary school admissions
process and our Career Center can connect you with the internships,
research and work opportunities that will add polish to your
application.
Law School
The
strength of our prelaw advising program is the individual attention you
will receive from our pre-law advisers. Law schools look for students
who have completed a course of study that emphasizes language skills
and development of analytical capabilities, and our advisers will work
with you to design a program that develops these skills. You will also
receive assistance in selecting and applying to law schools,
preparation for the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT), and financial
planning for law school. For more information, contact the College of
Liberal Arts Advising Center at 491-3117 for pre-law information and
appointments.
Business Administration
Admission
to most professional business schools requires a few core undergraduate
courses - typically including accounting, economics, calculus and
statistics. Beyond that core, candidates are typically evaluated based
on their communication, analytical and organizational skills, as well
as college GPA, scores on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
and relevant work experience.
At Colorado State’s you can have it all – our College of Business offers preparation that is top-notch and our internship and career programs offer real-world work skills that will make you a more attractive candidate for admission.
