Colorado Residency Documentation
IF you are claiming Colorado residency to be considered for in-state tuition classification, you will be required to provide documentation on your application for admission.
Undergraduate Applicants UNDER 23 YEARS OF AGE: provide the following information for yourself AND your parent/legal guardian.*†
All Graduate Applicants (regardless of age) and Undergraduate Applicants 23 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER: provide the following information for yourself only.
- Dates of physical presence in Colorado
- Dates of extended absences from Colorado
- Last three (3) years Colorado income taxes have been filed
- Dates of employment
- Current Driver’s License: state, number, and date issued
- Previous Driver’s License (immediately preceding current): state and date issued
- Last three (3) years Colorado motor vehicle registration
- Vehicle License Plate Number
- Date of Colorado voter registration
- Date of purchase of property in Colorado (if applicable)
- Dates of military service (if applicable)
*If you have a legal guardian, you must submit a copy of the court order appointing legal guardianship with the documents you mail to complete your application.
†Married students under age 23 should NOT submit parent/guardian information; however, be sure to include spouse’s contact information.
