GED Applicants
GED applicants must submit official GED
scores, a high school transcript from the last high school attended,
ACT or SAT results (not required of students 23 years of age or older
or out of high school five or more years), an essay (minimum 250 words)
and a letter of recommendation that speaks to the applicant's
accomplishments and ability to succeed in an academic environment.
Strong
candidates for admission present a minimum 550 GED average. The
admission decision includes assessment of overall academic preparation
in all core subject areas, including rigor, foundation skills, and
trends. To make the most of the holistic review process, GED applicants
are encouraged to use the essay to provide specific information about
their educational background, personal and professional accomplishments
since leaving school, and factors supporting a return to school.
