Transfer Academic Credit
Freshman students may earn college-level academic credit for the following:
- Advanced Placement (AP-College Board) Exam scores of four or higher
- International Baccalaureate (IB) Standard and Higher Level Results of four or higher
- British A-Level passes
- German Abitur
- Italian Maturita
To receive credit for any of these tests, official scores must be sent directly to Colorado State from the testing agency.
Applicants who have completed course work at a university/college also may be eligible for academic credit, as follows:
- Course work completed at an institution in the United States must be accredited by one of six regional accrediting associations to be considered for credit.
- Credit for course work completed at university/college outside of the U.S. is evaluated once the institution has been approved (generally, this requires recognition by a government agency in the home country such as Ministry of Education). Transfer applicants who have completed university-level academic work at institutions outside of the United States are encouraged to bring to campus any available course descriptions, syllabi, or university/college catalogs that will assist our transfer of credit evaluators in assessing completed work for equivalent credit.
To receive credit for any course work completed at another college/university, official transcripts must be sent directly to Colorado State.
An evaluation of transferable credit is done only after an applicant is admitted to the University.
