Steps for Admitted Transfer Students
After students receive their official offer of admission, there still are important
steps to be taken to prepare to enroll at Colorado State University. Follow these
links for details.
-
Create an eID
To complete all the necessary steps for enrollment, admitted students must have
an eID (electronic IDentification). If this step has not already been taken, admitted
students can create an eID through RAMweb; select "Create
an Account (eID)". Students must know their CSU ID to create their eID (refer
to the Verification Form in the admission packet, or contact the Office of Admissions
at (970) 491-6909 or admissions@colostate.edu).
Admitted students who have forgotten their eID should select "I forgot my Username
and/or Password" on the RAMweb login page. If
assistance is needed creating an eID, admitted students should contact the Office
of Admissions at (970) 491-6909 or admissions@colostate.edu.
Please note that eID information can only be shared with the admitted student and
not with family members because of the Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act
(FERPA). More information about FERPA is available as "Rights Regarding Students'
Educational Records" in the Policies and Guiding Principles section of the
University General Catalog or through the
Department of Education, Privacy Policy (FERPA) site.
-
Confirm the Intent to Enroll
Even though the May 1 Confirmation Date has passed, admitted students still can confirm their intent to enroll for the Fall 2008 term. The sooner we receive your confirmation, the better we can prepare for your arrival!
Admitted students must log in to RAMweb
to confirm their intent to enroll at Colorado State.
Please note: Students planning to enroll for the first time during a summer session
also must confirm; summer course registration begins in January.
-
Submit the Enrollment Deposit
Effective for freshman and transfer students who enroll Fall 2008 or after
Even though the May 1 deposit deadline has passed, admitted students still can submit their deposit to enroll for the Fall 2008 term. With registration and orientation programs fast approaching, submit your deposit as soon as possible so you are ready to register for classes when you arrive on campus. We’re excited to help you prepare for this fall!
In order to be "registration ready" -- eligible to register for classes
-- admitted transfers* must submit a nonrefundable $300 enrollment deposit, which
serves as an advanced tuition payment.
To make the enrollment deposit, admitted students log in to
RAMweb using their eID ((Visa, MasterCard, and e-check payment options are available).
*Second Bachelor's candidates are not required to submit the enrollment deposit.
-
Visit Campus and Fort Collins
Students who have not yet visited campus (or those excited for a repeat visit!)
are encouraged to visit campus before enrolling. Because admitted students are part
of our campus community, we want to include them in the fun!
For more information about the Office of Admissions Daily Information Sessions and
Tours, Showcase Colorado State visit programs, and departmental visit events, view
our Visit Campus site.
-
Apply for Campus Housing
Colorado State University offers a broad selection of housing and dining options
to ensure that students feel at home here. Transfer students are welcome in any
of our residence halls; some halls even have designated "upperclass housing"
for students who are sophomores-seniors. In addition, campus apartments are available
for students who qualify. Information about housing options is available on the
housing website.
Housing assignments for both fall and spring terms start in November; the sooner
the
online housing application and $150 deposit are received, the more likely
a student is to receive his/her first choice. (Until July 1, $100 of the deposit
is refundable.) Students must have their eID to complete the online housing application.
-
Apply for Financial Aid and Scholarships
Colorado State University awards a full range of need-based and merit-based aid
to eligible students. For fall semester, March 1 is the Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) priority deadline AND the online Colorado State
University Scholarship Application (CSUSA) deadline. The CSUSA is available through
RAMweb and requires the
eID for access.
Need-based financial aid is awarded year-round.
Find links to free/low-cost scholarship searches, financial aid calculators, information
about student employment, billing information, and more on the Student Financial
Services website.
-
Sign up for Next Step Orientation
Next Step Orientation Program invitations are mailed beginning March 1 to students
admitted for the fall semester. Information about spring semester orientation is
mailed beginning in early November.
Next Step Orientation introduces admitted students and their families to currently
enrolled students, other newly admitted students, key academic advisers, and University
policies and services important to students’ success. Admitted students are advised
to register for a session as soon as they receive an invitation. Program dates,
tentative agenda, and photos from past sessions are available online at
http://www.orientation.colostate.edu/.
-
Complete Math & Composition Placement Exams
All majors at Colorado State require a minimum of three (3) credits of mathematics and
three (3) credits of college composition for graduation. Admitted freshmen who have not
completed at least three credits each of transferable, college-level mathematics and college
composition through AP, IB or dual enrollment are STRONGLY encouraged to complete the Colorado
State University Mathematics Placement Exam (MPE) and the Composition Placement Exam before
participating in an orientation and registration program.
Both Placement Exams are offered in an online format and are accessible from remote
(off-campus) locations, such as a home computer. Newly admitted ("incoming") students may take
the Placement Exams one time from a remote location. If necessary, the MPE may be taken up to two
additional times on campus, while the Composition Placement Exam may be taken only one additional
time. Please note that the MPE is available on demand while classes are in session, whereas the
Composition Placement Exam is only offered on select dates at specified times.
For details about the Colorado State University Mathematics Placement Exam including customized
review materials, go to www.math.colostate.edu/placement/placement.shtml. Be sure to carefully review
the section for Prospective and Incoming Students.
For details about the Colorado State University Composition Placement Exam, including the select
dates and times it will be available, refer to http://writing.colostate.edu/comp/placement.cfm.
-
Submit a Final, Official Transcript
Admission is provisional until we receive a final, official transcript reflecting
satisfactory completion of any work in progress and applicable degree completion
or graduation.
Admitted students should submit a final transcript within three weeks of applicable
degree completion, graduation, or final term of attendance.
-
Complete Student Health Records
Before students can register for their second semester classes, they are required
to provide a medical history and proof of immunization. We recommend admitted students
mail the documentation in advance or bring it with them to Orientation. For more
information, review the
Forms section of the Hartshorn Health Services website.
-
RAM Welcome
All new students are invited to arrive on campus on the first day of RAM Welcome,
a four-day event for new students and their families to make connections with each
other and with faculty, staff, and continuing students from across campus. For the
move-in day date as well as other key first-year dates, check out
admissions.colostate.edu/calendar.
Important Note:
The University's General Catalog includes information about student rights and responsibilities and University policies and procedures. Information about the Four-year Graduation Agreement is part of the Student Bill of Rights.
