Admission Requirement in Mathematics
Transfer applicants MUST meet the admission requirement in mathematics. This requirement may be satisfied through any one of the following ways:
- Completing a transferable mathematics course (such as college algebra or math for the liberal arts but not statistics or finance/accounting) with a grade of "C-" or higher OR
- Completing an intermediate algebra course (or equivalent) with a grade of "B-" or higher OR
- Completing Algebra I, geometry, and algebra II with grades of "C" or higher while in high school (submit a high school transcript).
- Meeting the Transfer Admission Guarantee through completion of an Associate of Arts or an Associate of Science from a state of Colorado community college.
- Completing the Colorado State University Mathematics Placement Exam (MPE). Students whose MPE results indicate that they are only cleared to register for MATH 130 and no other mathematics courses also must complete units 1-3 of the ELM Tutorial to satisfy the admission requirement in mathematics. Prospective and incoming students may take the MPE one time from a remote (off-campus) location. All students may take the MPE up to two additional times on campus. Second bachelor's candidates/postgraduate applicants are exempt from the admission requirement in mathematics, though mathematics credits may be required for graduation.
