Step 2: Create your eID and check your @Rams email account

You will need your eID to complete most of the steps for admitted students, and it will stay with you throughout your CSU experience. If you haven’t already created your eID to check your application status online, call Admissions for help. You can disregard this step if you created your eID earlier in the application process.

Creating your eID also creates an “@rams.colostate.edu” email address for you, which becomes the primary email address for other University offices to contact you. Log in to your @Rams email account as soon as you create your eID to authenticate, and either set up forwarding rules or check your @Rams account regularly now that you’re admitted.

Ready to create your eID?

Create your eID and @rams email account here. You’ll need your 9-digit CSU ID number, which is posted at the top of your applicant status page and emailed to you shortly after your admission to CSU.

Step 3: Contact your advisor and register for classes

Before you can register for classes, you’ll need to meet with the key advisor for your major. You’re encouraged to make an advising appointment prior to the opening of registration in May for fall semester and November for spring semester.

Consider waiting until your transfer evaluation is complete or bring a copy of your transcript with you to your advising appointment. This will help your advisor determine whether you meet certain pre-requisites and assess where you stand relative to graduation in your new major.

If you prefer, you are welcome to attend Ram Orientation to learn about our traditions, to get introduced to campus services and to register for classes.

Ready to connect with your advisor?

Meet with your advisor before registration opens, and bring a copy of your transfer evaluation or transcript with you.

Step 4: Apply for financial aid

Submit the FAFSA to be considered for need-based financial aid which includes grants, work study, and loans. Be sure to check RAMweb regularly once you submit the FAFSA in case additional information or verification is required to complete your financial aid award. Your eID is required to log in.

Information about other resources, financial aid calculators and student employment is available through the Office of Financial Aid.

Step 5: Find housing

On-campus options

CSU offers a wide selection of housing and dining options to ensure all students feel at home on campus. Campus apartments are open to students who are age 21+ or married or who have dependents; applications are accepted year-round.

Off-campus options

Off-Campus Life offers resources to help you make a successful transition to the Fort Collins community beyond finding a place to live.

Step 6: Complete your student health records

Complete the steps on CSU Health Network’s New Student Checklist to make sure your records are complete. You can complete this step anytime prior to enrollment.

Step 7: Review your transfer evaluation in RAMweb

RAMweb is the CSU student portal where you eventually will register for classes, check grades, pay account balances and more. Once you create your eID and log in to RAMweb, you’ll notice you can access your applicant status page from within RAMweb.

You will be able to view your transfer evaluation in RAMweb. The Registrar’s Office will email your @RAMS account when your transfer evaluation is complete. Allow 30 business days from the point of admission for US work to be evaluated.

Ready to explore RAMweb?

Allow up to 30 business days for your transfer evaluation to be posted to RAMweb; you’ll also use this portal to review your financial aid award, register for classes, pay your bill, check your grades, and more. Your eID is required to log in.

Step 8: Complete the math and composition placement requirements

Be sure to ask your academic advisor whether mathematics and composition will be required for graduation from CSU. If you do not have college credit for mathematics or composition in transfer from another institution or through AP, IB or CLEP exams, complete the placement requirements online.

Step 9: Submit final, official transcripts

Your admission is provisional until we receive final, official college transcripts showing satisfactory completion of any work in progress and graduation, if applicable.

To avoid possible delays in the financial aid or course registration process, submit your final transcript by January 2 if you’re entering in the spring semester or July 1 if you’re entering in the fall semester. Grades for summer work should be submitted as soon as they are available.
