Colorado State University is located in the heart of Fort Collins in northern Colorado along the picturesque Front Range. With quick access to several major highways, Denver International Airport, and plenty of places to stay once you’re here, visiting campus is easy regardless of where you are coming from.

Before traveling to campus, be sure to check your event information for specific instructions. While these directions will take you to the primary buildings used for campus visits, they will not account for changes to itinerary.

Use these directions and resources to get to campus, but don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions regarding your visit or how to get here.

Directions

Welcome Center and Transfer Student Center

All visitors taking part in daily information sessions, daily tours, or just dropping by should start at the University Welcome Center, also known as Ammons Hall. Transfer students will travel to the Transfer Student Center (TILT Building)using the same directions. For those using a GPS, the best address is 711 Oval Drive, Fort Collins, CO 80521.

From I-25, traveling north or south

These directions apply to visitors using I-25 to reach Fort Collins, such as those traveling from the Denver area or Cheyenne, WY.

  • Use exit 268, Prospect Road.
  • Head west and continue on Prospect Road for about 4 miles.
  • Turn right on S. College Ave.
  • Continue straight for about 0.8 miles.
  • Turn left on Laurel Street and continue for about 0.2 miles.
  • Turn left Howes St.
  • Turn right on Music Drive.
  • Continue to the parking lot ahead. As you enter campus, the Welcome Center and the TILT Building will be directly to your right.

From College Ave., traveling north

These directions apply to visitors traveling on College Ave., U.S. 287 from the Loveland area.

  • Travel north on College Ave. until you reach E Laurel Street.
  • Turn left on Laurel Street and continue for 0.2 miles.
  • Turn left at Howes St.
  • Turn right on Music Drive
  • Continue to the parking lot ahead. As you enter campus, the Welcome Center and the TILT Building will be directly to your right.

Due to university parking policies all visitors must pick up a parking permit at check-in and return to their vehicle to properly display. We apologize for this inconvenience, Visitor Parking Permits are only available in the Welcome Center.

These permits are valid in any “Reserved Parking for Admission Guest” spaces in front of the building or in any “A” lot to the west of the building. Permits are not valid in “pay to park” spaces. This map highlights available visitor parking. Lots 315 and 310 on the map are classified as “A” lots.

Visitor Parking Permits are not required for Saturday visits to campus.

Lory Student Center

All visitors taking part in events such as Explore CSU, Discover CSU, Transfer Student Visit Day, or Choose CSU will travel to the Lory Student Center. For those using a GPS, the best address is 599 South Drive, Fort Collins, CO 80521.

From I-25, traveling north or south

These directions apply to visitors using I-25 to reach Fort Collins, such as those traveling from the Denver area or Cheyenne, WY.

  • Use exit 268,  Prospect Road.
  • Head west and continue on Prospect Road for about 4.5 miles.
  • Turn right on S. Whitcomb Street and continue for about .5 miles as the road changes to Meridian Ave.
  • Turn right on South Drive where you will find designated parking areas.

From College Ave., traveling north

These directions apply to visitors traveling on College Ave., U.S. 287 from the Loveland area.

  • Travel north on College Ave. until you reach Prospect Road.
  • Turn left on Prospect Road and continue for 0.5 miles.
  • Turn right on S. Whitcomb Street and continue for about .5 miles as the road changes to Meridian Ave.
  • Turn right on South Drive where you will find designated parking areas.

Once you are on South Drive, visitors are invited to park in lots 425412, or alongSouth Drive. In the case that these lots are full, turn around and return Meridian Ave. the same way you entered campus. Turn left at Lake Street and right on Center Avenue. Parking will be available at the Lake & Center Parking Garage directly on your left.

The Lory Student Center is located north of the parking areas listed.

Hughes Stadium

These directions are for visitors interested in traveling to historic Hughes Stadium or attending a Rams football game. For those using a GPS, the best address is 2011 S. Overland Trail, Fort Collins, CO 80521.

From I-25, traveling north or south

These directions apply to visitors using I-25 to reach Fort Collins, such as those traveling from the Denver area or Cheyenne, WY.

  • Use exit 268,  Prospect Road.
  • Head west and continue on Prospect Road for about 7 miles.
  • Turn left on S. Overland Trail and continue for about 0.5 miles.
  • Turn right at Ross Drive and continue until you reach the designated parking areas.

From the Main CSU Campus

These directions apply to visitors traveling from the main Colorado State campus to Hughes Stadium.

  • Head east (away from the mountains) to College Ave., U.S. 287.
  • Turn right onto College Ave. and travel south for about 1.5 miles.
  • Turn right on W. Drake Road and continue for 3 miles.
  • Turn right on S. Overland Trail and continue for about 0.6 miles.
  • Turn left on Ross Drive and continue until you reach the designated parking areas.

Once you have reached Hughes Stadium, visitors are invited to park in the designated spaces. However, during football games, some roads are closed and access is limited.

Old Town Fort Collins

These directions are for visitors interested in spending time in Fort Collins’ idyllic Old Town, known for its great opportunities for shopping and dining, and comfortable atmosphere. For those using a GPS, the best address is 112 College Ave., Fort Collins, CO 80521.

From I-25, traveling north or south

These directions apply to visitors using I-25 to reach Fort Collins, such as those traveling from the Denver area or Cheyenne, WY.

  • Use exit 268, Prospect Road.
  • Head west and continue on Prospect Road for about 4 miles.
  • Turn right on S. College Ave and continue north for about 1 mile.
  • Old Town stretches north for about 1 mile and to the east and west of College Ave.
  • Parking can be found along College Ave. and side streets.

From the Main CSU Campus

These directions apply to visitors traveling from the main Colorado State campus to Hughes Stadium.

  • Head east (away from the mountains) to College Ave., U.S. 287.
  • Turn left onto College Ave. and travel north for about 0.5 miles.
  • Old Town stretches north for about 1 mile and to the east and west of College Ave.
  • Parking can be found along College Ave. and side streets.

Parking along College Ave. and many of the Old Town side streets is free for 2-hours. There are also several other options and garages, which can be found here.

Parking on campus

Visitors to campus may use specially designated visitor zones, any of “A,” “W,” “X,” or “Z” parking areas with a Visitor Parking Permit, or metered or numbered parking spots which require payment.

Daily Information Sessions and Campus Tour participants coming to campus Monday-Friday must pick up a Visitor Parking Permit at the Welcome Center and return to their vehicle to properly display. Saturday participants do not require Visitor Parking Permits. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Specific Visit Day Program participants will receive information regarding parking locations and Visitor Parking Permit in their confirmation email upon registration.

Traveling from Denver International Airport

For those traveling to Colorado by air, Denver International Airport is the closest major airport to Fort Collins. Colorado State University is about 65 miles north of the airport and there are several options for transportation following your flight.
