If you’re a freshman or first-year applicant, February 1 is a big deal. Applying by this date brings benefits like increased scholarship opportunities. Here are some of the major reasons you should make February 1 a priority if you’re interested in attending CSU in fall. If you have questions about the application process, don’t hesitate to reach out to your admissions counselor.
If you’re applying for Fall semester, February 1 is your regular decision date. But what does that actually mean? It’s a big deal for both admission and financial aid here at CSU. Here’s what you’ll get if you apply by this date.
#1. An admission decision by February 28
If you submit a complete application by February 1, you will receive an admission decision by the end of the month. After February 1, we admit applicants as space is available.
#2. Full scholarship consideration
Applying by February 1 guarantees that you will be considered for our automatic merit scholarships, aka Green and Gold Scholarships. It also gives you time to submit a Colorado State University Scholarship Application (CSUSA) before it closes on March 1. Learn more about the CSUSA process.
#3. Opportunity to take important next steps in a timely way
On-campus housing gets rolling in the new year with housing applications and assignments. If you’re looking at particular residence halls or residential learning communities, it’s important to complete your housing application and list your top choices as soon as you can. Also, the sooner you sign up for orientation, the more dates you’ll have to choose from. These housing and orientation steps can only be taken once you have applied to CSU and submitted your enrollment deposit.
