If you’re a freshman or first year applicant, February 1 is a big deal. Applying by this date brings benefits like increased scholarship opportunities.

Here are some of the major reasons you should make February 1 a priority if you’re interested in attending CSU this upcoming fall. If you have questions about the application process, don’t hesitate to reach out to your admissions counselor.

February 1 is your regular decision date.

If you’re applying for Fall 2018, February 1 is your regular decision date. But what does that actually mean?

It’s a big deal for both admission and financial aid here at CSU. Here’s what you’ll get if you apply by this date:

An admission decision by February 28.

If you apply by February 1, you are guaranteed to receive an admission decision by the end of the month. After February 1, we will admit applicants only as space is available.

Full scholarship consideration.

This is an important one for financial aid. Applying by February 1 guarantees that you will be considered for our automatic merit scholarships. It also gives you time to submit a Colorado State University Scholarship Application (CSUSA) before it closes on March 1. Learn more about the CSUSA here.

Opportunity to take important next steps in a timely way.

CSU Housing will begin hall assignments in March. If you’re looking at particular residence halls or learning communities, it’s important to complete your housing application and list your top choices as soon as you can.
