Application fee refunds

The $50 application fee is not refundable if an applicant is denied, withdraws their application, or changes their mind about attending CSU; nor is it applicable to tuition and fees if the student enrolls. If the payment of an application fee presents a financial hardship, students can request an application fee waiver.

Applicants who inadvertently pay the application fee more than once for a specific application or who pay and then are approved for an application fee waiver will be refunded accordingly. No refund request is necessary.

Enrollment deposit refunds

The $300 enrollment deposit opens access to the Housing application and Orientation sign-up for newly admitted on-campus freshmen and transfers. If payment of the enrollment deposit presents a financial hardship, students can request an enrollment deposit deferral.

Admitted students who deposit and then experience a change of plans can submit the update request form to change their application to a different term. In these cases, the enrollment deposit is applied to the new term.

Refunds are available upon request until the dates listed below. After these dates, enrollment deposits are non-refundable.

Event fee policy

The Office of Admissions offers our recruitment events at no charge to students or their guests as often as possible. If an event fee presents a financial hardship, event fee waivers are available. Event fee waivers cover the cost of the student plus one guest. This fee waiver also serves as an application fee waiver. To request an event/application fee waiver please complete the correct form and submit to Gameday Information Sessions include football tickets offered at a discount. Fee waivers are not available for Gameday Information Sessions.

For admitted student events, event fee waivers are automatically issued to students who received an application fee waiver. Students who received an event fee waiver within the past calendar year will automatically qualify to receive an application fee waiver.

The Office of Admissions assists campus partners by managing the registration for academically-focused recruitment events. Fees associated with these events are managed by the office hosting the event. Admissions fee waivers do not apply to events not hosted by the Office of Admissions.

Event refund policy

Full refunds of Office of Admissions event fees will be honored for cancellations received at least 24 hours prior to the event check-in time. Gameday Information Sessions and Tours require cancellations at least 72 hours before the event. All event fee refund requests require the submission of the refund request form.

Should your number of guests change, you may request a partial refund by submitting the refund request form. Partial refunds can be requested either in advance or at event check-in. Partial refunds will not be issued after the event date.
