Application fee refunds

The $50 application fee is not refundable if an applicant is denied, withdraws their application, or changes their mind about attending CSU; nor is it applicable to tuition and fees if the student enrolls. If the payment of an application fee presents a financial hardship, students can request an application fee waiver.

Applicants who inadvertently pay the application fee more than once for a specific application or who pay and then are approved for an application fee waiver will be refunded accordingly. No refund request is necessary.

Enrollment deposit refunds

The $300 enrollment deposit opens access to the Housing application and Orientation sign-up for newly admitted on-campus freshmen and transfers. If payment of the enrollment deposit presents a financial hardship, students can request an enrollment deposit deferral.

Admitted students who deposit and then experience a change of plans can submit the update request form to change their application to a different term. In these cases, the enrollment deposit is applied to the new term.

Refunds are available upon request until the dates listed below. After these dates, enrollment deposits are non-refundable.

*Students planning to enroll at CSU for the spring semester must deposit by December 15 or within two weeks of receiving their admission decision if admitted after this date. This reflects the refund date only.

Event fee waiver policy

If an event fee presents a financial hardship, event fee waivers are available. Event fee waivers cover the cost of the student plus one guest. This fee waiver also serves as an application fee waiver. To request an event/application fee waiver please complete the correct form and submit to Nora Cruz.

For admitted student events, event fee waivers are automatically issued to students who received an application fee waiver. Students who received an event fee waiver within the past calendar year will automatically qualify to receive an application fee waiver.

Event refund policy

Full event payment refunds will be honored for cancellations made by 11 p.m. MT the day prior to the event. With the exception of Gameday Information Sessions and Tours, these  events require cancellations no later then 72 hours before the event. For all events submission of a separate refund request form is required.

Should your number of guests change, you may request a partial refund by emailing Partial refunds can be requested either in advance by email or at event check-in. Partial refunds will not be issued after event date.
