Colorado State’s Geology major provides a rigorous academic and practical basis for diverse professional science careers ranging from natural resources and education to water management, geohazards, environmental consulting, energy, and paleontology. You will discuss wide-ranging topics in the Earth sciences and choose from four concentrations to specialize your studies: Geology, Hydrogeology, Geophysics, or Environmental Geology. Geosciences will teach you to better understand the Earth through hands-on learning and active lab work.You will take field trips throughout your time in the major to explore geological points of interest across Colorado and participate in a five-week capstone field course prior to graduation

Geology provides a strong, broad science background that can lead you to a great variety of career options. Geoscience professions are commonly ranked among the most professionally satisfying, and you’ll find it has a strong worldwide professional community.
