The graduate admission process at CSU is a partnership between the Graduate School, graduate academic departments, the International Enrollment Center, and the Office of Admissions. Follow the general guidelines outlined below to contact experts with answers to your questions.

Graduate academic departments establish their own deadlines, document requirements, and selection criteria. Rely on the academic department for information about the academic program, application deadlines, admission criteria, decision timelines, funding support, program and term changes, and next steps after admission. Your department will be your primary point of contact.

Contact the Office of Admissions at (970) 491-6909 or [email protected] if you have questions about navigating the online graduate application, accessing your admissions dashboard, or troubleshooting documents you’ve submitted.
All applicant types are explained online. You can find out whether you are a freshman, transfer, returning, second bachelor’s, international, graduate, or nondegree-seeking applicant.
Application launch dates and deadlines are based on your applicant type and the semester you want to start classes. Find your applicant type and then click into the application guide to find out when you should apply.
To log into CSU’s electronic systems, you will need to activate your NetID.
Undergraduate applicants receive instructions to activate NetID by email within 1-2 days after submitting an application.
Graduate students receive instructions to activate NetID as part of their notice of admission.
Undergraduate student instructions: check your application status online using the undergraduate admissions dashboard.
Graduate student instructions: Log into your graduate admissions dashboard using the email and password you used to apply. Your dashboard may include program deadlines and review timelines.
A limited range of materials can be uploaded to your admissions dashboard. Materials that you upload will be reflected within 15-30 minutes.
Some materials, such as transcripts, may be accepted only by mail or through a secure server. Allow 3-5 business days after they have been received by CSU for materials submitted via postal mail, express delivery, or a certified, secure electronic document service to be reflected in your dashboard. If it has been more than five business days and the material does not show as received, contact us with the date and method of submission, name(s) on the document and third-party confirmation number/receipt (if applicable).
Learn more about how credits transfer to CSU, whether you’ve taken college classes in high school, enrolled at another college or university, or have earned your associate’s degree.
Contact the academic department directly for details on their program’s score requirements or to request a waiver.
Use the Upload Materials section of your graduate admissions dashboard to submit new or updated documents. Use the Manage Recommenders link if you need to change or send reminders to your recommenders. Recommendations cannot be uploaded by applicants. Note: once a graduate application has moved forward for review by the department, additional documents are not accepted.
