With a sole focus on our undergraduate program, you do not compete with graduate-level performers and designers for opportunities. Performance roles are filled by undergraduates, from freshman to seniors, and productions involve students in all aspects of design and technology. Plus, Theatre’s Mentor Program provides you with encouragement, agency, and resources.
#2. You will train with experienced professionals in a world-class facility.
All theatre classes are taught by faculty members, not graduate students. Our working professionals teach courses specific to their area, meaning your instruction comes from industry experts. You’ll take classes in the University Center for the Arts, one of the finest performance-learning facilities in the nation. It boasts six performance spaces and a dozen labs and shops where more than 200 music, theatre and dance performances are produced each year.
#3. You will gain a broad skill base that helps build your resume.
When the time comes, our faculty and staff will help you find a job or enroll in graduate school, either locally or nationally. Many students take part in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, which gives them an advantage with finding summer jobs and permanent roles after graduation
