What you need to know about the enrollment deposit

After you’re admitted to Colorado State University, one of the next important steps is to submit your enrollment deposit

Why do I need to pay an enrollment deposit?

Submitting your $300 enrollment deposit is important for a few reasons.

  1. It reserves your spot in the incoming class and helps us make projections for the right amount of housing and classes CSU will need for the next year.
  2. You only get access to other important enrollment actions, such as applying for on-campus housing and signing up for orientation, when you’ve submitted your deposit.

Am I required to pay a deposit?

If you’re an on-campus, first-year student, transfer student, or international student, you are required to submit an enrollment deposit. If you are an online student, second bachelor’s student, or a graduate student you’ll need to refer to your admitted student checklist to learn more.

What if I can’t pay it right now?

You can defer your enrollment deposit if you are unable to pay your enrollment deposit or would like to wait for your financial aid to help pay. You will still receive all of the benefits of depositing, but you will pay your deposit as part of your first-semester bill rather than paying it separately by the enrollment deposit deadline.

When should I submit my deposit?

  • If you’ll be a freshman starting in the fall semester, you are encouraged to submit your enrollment deposit no later than National Decision Day, which typically is May 1. However, paying or deferring your deposit earlier gives you access to important next steps, like housing and orientation.
  • If you’ll be a transfer student starting in the fall, you should submit your deposit by July 1.
  • All other students should refer to their admitted student guides for more information.

Is it refundable?

The enrollment deposit is not refundable.
