Things to love about going to college

Thinking about college soon? Picture rolling into your 8 a.m. lecture in pajamas, having impromptu movie nights on weekdays, and getting crazy at a Rams game. College is full of newfound freedoms, simple joys, and surprises. These are just a few things to love as you step into college life at Colorado State.

#1. Wearing pajamas to your 8 a.m. lecture

In college, your morning routine might consist of rolling out of bed, grabbing coffee, and strolling into class confidently with your pajamas on. That first class in the morning can be a challenge, and there is nothing wrong with being comfy. You’ll find you aren’t alone as students around you dress for their days, too!

#2. Movie night on a Monday

A flick on a Friday sounds pretty cool, but you know what’s better? A movie night on a Monday, of course! Whether you gather in a dorm room or one of these unique places to watch one, movie nights in college just hit different. Check out these five college-themed movies to get started with this tradition. Feel free to call it “research.”

#3. Making friends with practically anyone

College gives you lots of chances to expand your social circle, and you’ll probably find that cliques are less prominent than when you were in high school. You can say hi to people in your class, in the lunch line, or at an event and become friends with people who you’d never expect. There’s nothing like new friends to broaden your horizons and create exciting memories.

#4. Snack time is any time

What isn’t to love about trying new food or finding a new craving? At CSU, you can explore dining centers, marketplaces, and the food court in the Lory Student Center. You can get a delicious and diverse menu with every meal, at almost any time of day. (Late-night study snack, anyone?) Pro tip: If you want to branch out from on-campus food, you can indulge in dozens of awesome spots in Fort Collins.

#5. Losing your voice at a sporting event

Shouting at the top of your lungs for your favorite team isn’t just allowed, it’s encouraged! You can cheer on the Rams in a variety of sports, and even join the Ram Ruckus club to take your fandom to a whole new level!
