A concentration allows you to specialize in a certain area within your major, offering a depth of information and hands-on experiences that you may not otherwise get. Many students in this major will concentrate in one area to work in a specific field after college, as well as find mentors and internships before they even graduate.
In addition to minoring in a second language, you’ll focus on business- and nature-based tourism topics, as well as foreign culture and cross-cultural skills in order to build and plan tourism enterprises that lead to benefits and well-being for people, community and landscapes around the world.
You’ll focus on business and nature-based tourism and outdoor recreation topics in order to learn how to build and plan programs and initiatives that lead to economic, social and ecological well-being benefits.
After graduation, you’ll primarily work in a variety of private commercial tourism and recreation enterprises. Competition can be intense for full–time/permanent positions in highly attractive natural resource locations, but you’ll have ample opportunities to gain experience through seasonal/temporary and volunteer work both during and after your education.
