Application tips for transfer students

Students stand at table at CSU's transfer welcome

As a transfer student, you’ve probably already experienced some of the stress that comes from navigating the college-application process. And, transferring from your current school to Colorado State can come with its own set of challenges.

We want to help you make that process as smooth as possible, and we even have a dedicated team of transfer counselors to help you! Check out their tips below for getting a handle on the transfer process, and know that we’re always here to help as you make your way to the Ramily.

#1. Apply early

If you apply by our early action date, you’ll receive early admission consideration and automatic scholarship consideration, including access to the CSUSA (Colorado State University Scholarship Application). Check out our guide on the best times to apply.

#2. Look for more information about your major

Some programs are competitive and will have additional requirements in order to be admitted into that major. Check out our list of competitive majors and make sure you’re on the right track.

#3. Send in your application items as you go

Don’t wait until you have all your support documents, like transcripts, ready before you start submitting items. As they become available to you, you can send them in and we’ll match them to your in-progress application.

#4. Watch your email

Email is the primary way we’ll keep in touch with important information, deadlines, and the status of your application. Keep a close eye on messages from us!
