Big changes happen when you go to college, and mixing up your routine can have a big impact on your physical health. Luckily, you’ll find a slew of options to keep you moving, plus a lot of fun new things to try as you discover new ways to stay fit and flexible. Check out some of the ways to stay active at Colorado State.

#1. CSU Rec Center

The first and obvious answer for all things active at CSU is easily the robust offerings right here at our Recreation Center. In its 200,000 square feet of space, you’ll enjoy access to a massive aquatic center (with lap lanes, sauna, climbing wall, and room for water games), a 55-foot climbing wall, fitness studios for classes like yoga, cycling, TRX, martial arts, as well as various weight-lifting and cardio spaces. Want to take a class to find your fitness fit, or explore personal training to get you on the right track? We’ve got that.

#2. CSU sport clubs and intramurals

Love team sports and the thrill of competition, but not in a place to join official college athletics? There are a lot of options for you to get the best of both worlds. Colorado State’s sport clubs allow you to find your sport and join some fun-loving, lightly competitive teams that suit you. And, the variety will blow your mind. There are over 30 options, ranging from classics like swimming, tennis, and soccer, to lesser-known sports like logging, figure skating, rodeo, and shotgun. And if you want an even less-competitive yet still loads of fun option, there are dozens of intramural leagues to choose from.

#3. Colorado outdoor goodness

We don’t need to remind you of the Rockies out our backdoor, but it’s important to note all the get-out-and-explore options available to you at Colorado State. Swim and paddleboard nearby at Horsetooth Reservoir, or bring your crash pad for some bouldering, head up the canyons for a Rocky Mountain hike or bike, or even take on the snow with skis and snowshoes. We have an outdoor wonderland here, and we’re not shy about claiming our bragging rights.

#4. Bike trails

When it comes to bike trails in Fort Collins, we’ve got just three words for you: three hundred miles. Yep, you can get almost anywhere in town on our many, many trails, and you can enjoy a city culture rich with bike-loving folks. There are also gobs of opportunities nearby for mountain, gravel, road, and fat biking. Get ready to get comfy on two wheels!

#5.  City of Fort Collins fitness programs

The City of Fort Collins boasts a wide variety of classes to keep you moving, along with some to spark your creativity. With everything from basic cardio and yoga classes to strength training, meditation yoga, spin, Pilates, Tai Chi, and Zumba, you’ll be set for fitness fun and exploration.
