Concentrations
A concentration allows you to specialize in a certain area within your major, offering a depth of information and hands-on experiences that you may not otherwise get. Many students in this major will concentrate in one area to work in a specific field after college, as well as find mentors and internships before they even graduate.
Environmental Geology
You’ll develop expertise in near-surface processes that shape the Earth while striving to provide important and sustainable water and critical mineral resources.
Geophysics
You’ll get a strong foundation in geology and learn to measure Earth’s surface and explore its interior with additional depth in geophysics, physics, mathematics, and computational skills.
Geology
A traditional, practical, and field-oriented approach prepares you for broad employment opportunities as a geologist in the energy and mining industries, government agencies, and consulting firms.
Hydrogeology
You’ll receive rigorous training in water resources and allied disciplines, ensuring that you’re well prepared for a career in this high-demand field.
