3 things all incoming freshmen should do by May 1

You’ve looked over brochures, scoured college websites, and checked out campuses. You’ve gone through the application process and have been accepted. And you’ve probably spent considerable time considering all your options.

You’ve done a lot of work to become a CSU Ram. And now it’s time to celebrate.

May 1 is National Decision Day — a day that future college students all over the country announce and celebrate their official college choice.

We want to make sure you have everything you need to celebrate your decision to be a Ram. So we’ve put together a few pointers to help you prepare for the big day.

#1: Make it official (if you haven’t yet).

Although you still have plenty of time to decide if CSU is the right fit, consider making it official by May 1. You can do that by submitting your enrollment deposit via RAMweb.

Committing by May 1 will give you more time to take important next steps, like applying for housing, signing up for orientation, and getting your financial aid squared away.

#2: Grab some Ram gear.

You’ve worked hard to get here, and you should be proud. On May 1, show off your college choice by wearing some CSU gear.

Grab a shirt, hoodie, pennant, sticker, or other CSU swag beforehand. You’ll have it for National Decision Day and also all summer long. Check out our college student gift guide for some ideas on where to start.

#3: Tell the world.

On May 1, we’ll be here to help you celebrate. Post your photo on social media and it may be featured by Admissions. We’ll be bragging on future Rams all day long on the Admissions Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook accounts. All you have to do is tag #ColoStateBound in your post or send us a message with your photo.
