Environmental Public Health

Environmental Public Health is a challenging STEM major that applies foundational sciences and experiential learning to solve real-world global health problems. Your education in EPH will prepare you for a career in a broad, growing field focused on preventing injury and disease by managing environmental hazards and promoting healthier air, water, soil, homes, workplaces, and communities. 

In this major, you’ll master core skills like: 

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving: Learn to analyze environmental hazards and protect community health. You will master risk assessment, develop strategies for disease prevention, and champion policies for safe air, water, and land use. 
  • Research and data analysis: Learn how to conduct experiments, collect and interpret data, and draw meaningful conclusions. 
  • Laboratory techniques: Develop proficiency in various lab techniques and general laboratory practices used in biomedical research and clinical settings.
