Transfer evaluations

Official Evaluations

Transfer evaluations are conducted by our Registrar’s Office only after a student has been admitted. We require official transcripts from all colleges/universities a student has attended for admission and evaluation purposes. Students transferring from regionally-accredited two-year institutions can be granted a maximum of 64 semester credits.

Unofficial Evaluations

Transferology is an online database that allows students, faculty, and administrators to access accurate information about the transferability of courses to CSU and how courses will satisfy academic program requirements.

If a student’s classes or institutions are not in Transferology, we are happy to complete an unofficial transfer evaluation, available by contacting the Transfer Student Center.

How we approach transfer admissions

Colorado State University is committed to access and student success. We consider a range of factors in the admission decision, including holistic review of academic and personal achievements. This process is designed to admit students with diverse backgrounds, skills and perspectives who are a great fit for CSU.

Transfer applications will be evaluated on the amount of credit taken at a regionally accredited college or university after high school graduation.

Visit opportunities

Looking to bring a group of students to campus? Our office hosts group visits for students coming from community and junior colleges. Group visits include an admissions information session and walking tour of campus with an option to have lunch in one of our dining centers. Reservations are required and must be scheduled three weeks in advance.

Timelines and deadlines

We know  it can be difficult to keep track of the various timelines and deadlines for transfer students. That’s why we built downloadable calendars just for counselors.

Transfer guides and state agreements

Counselors working with Colorado community or junior college students can refer to Colorado State’s transfer guides and statewide agreements and guaranteed transfer information.

Counselors from California community colleges can also find guides and planning worksheets for their students.
