The single most important step you can take when having your high school transcript sent to us is to make sure your school official knows which application you’ve used (Common App or CSU App). The most common error in transcript submission is tying the transcript to the wrong source.

CSU Application

Freshman/First-Year applicants: you’ll be prompted to list the name and email address of the High School Official who can release your official transcript to CSU (typically the Registrar or College Counselor). We’ll send an email to the person you’ve listed, outlining the options for your official transcript to be sent to CSU:

  • Your school official can upload materials directly to your application using, a free portal for high schools. Your counselor or registrar can instantly confirm that your materials have been uploaded using this tool.
  • Your school can upload a transcript directly to your application record using the secure link included in the email we send.
  • Your school can upload an official transcript via a secure site electronic submission service such as Parchment or Naviance. It is essential to specify which application you’ve used.
  • Your school can email an official transcript as a PDF to
  • Your school can mail your official transcript to Colorado State University, Office of Admissions, 1062 Campus Delivery, Fort Collins CO  80523-1062.
  • Sorry, but we cannot accept documents shared via Google links.

Common Application (Freshman/First-Year Applicants only)

These are the best options if you applied using the Common App:

  • Your school can upload an official transcript via a secure site electronic submission service such as Parchment or Naviance. It is essential to specify which application you’ve used.
  • Your school can use the other options above if necessary.

If you did not apply using the Common Application, we CANNOT access materials uploaded to the Common App.

If you already have graduated from high school, you may have to contact your district office rather than your high school to obtain an official copy of your transcript.

Some high schools will not release transcripts to us until you have paid and/or signed a release. Make sure you check with your high school well in advance of the application date.

Electronic submission of college transcripts is supported and preferred whenever possible. We accept electronic transcripts via Parchment, eScrip-Safe, the National Student Clearinghouse, or any other secure site used by the sending institution.
